Well, folks, we have a winner! After all the rigamarole over ballots and court cases that Trump caused, and the protests and what happened with that all at the White House, everything went ahead as scheduled after all and we have a winner – Biden is our new president.
I’m not saying who I voted for, or whether I support Biden or not, since I refuse to be political on this blog (or anywhere else, for that matter). But one thing I cannot stand is people who post on Facebook that meme that says, “He is not my president!”
Well, you may not have voted for him, but he is, in fact, the president of the United States. You live here. This is your country. Therefore, he IS your president. Nuff said.
I am looking forward to positive changes, including deliverance from this coronavirus.
Oh, gosh, how I can’t wait for things to get back to normal. Or as “normal” as they can get, in spite of this darn virus.
The vaccine is out and some people are getting it, but not as quickly as many would like. Aren’t you ready to get past this thing? I sure am. I would like to get a real kiss from my granddaughters without a piece of cloth between us!
And I’d really like to go back and sell at the indoor flea market, It’s been a whole year this month! We’ve got totes full of stuff to sell. And believe me, our pocketbook has felt the loss as well. It’s been a struggle without that little bit of extra money each month.
I would love to sit down to a lovely dinner in a restaurant and take my time eating my dinner on Date Night instead of getting it to go from a drive-through fast food restaurant. That’s just so not romantic!
I know some restaurants are open for indoor eating but with limited seating, and I did, in fact, eat inside at Outback for my birthday, but I was very nervous about it.
I still feel so weird about the whole mask thing. It still seems so foreign to me, even though it has been a year. I mean, I even watch some of my favorite TV shows (Bull, SWAT, to name a couple) and see people wearing masks on them. Boy, will that be dated when people watch those episodes in the future.
Someday we will tell our great-grandchildren, “I survived the pandemic of 2020,” or “I went through Covid-19 and lived to tell the story.”
Wow, what times we are living in right now. Who’d have ever thought we’d go through something like this? I only hope that by the time I post next month, I will have good news – that I have gotten the vaccine and we no longer have to wear masks! (As my mother used to say, “From your mouth to God’s ears!”)
Well, I hope you are doing well and surviving this virus ok and are being careful and safe, and that you are managing your bipolar disorder well.
Wishing you joy and stability,
Remember God loves you and so do I,
Michele
