Covid-19 Still Raging On

Can you believe Covid-19 is still raging on? I thought it’d be over long before now, didn’t you? It seems like there is no end in sight.

This is all so bizarre. Everywhere you go, people are wearing masks. At least they should be, and for the most part, they are, which is good. But still, so strange. Never thought I’d see anything like this going on.

We haven’t been to a restaurant in so, so long, even though you supposedly can with tables spread out with empty tables in between. We just don’t trust it. But before that, we went out every Friday night for Date Night. So this, too, is strange for me. Wonder if I’ll ever be able to go out to dinner again.

The worst part is with my twin granddaughters. A few weeks ago we were able to have them over to the house because school hadn’t started yet.

But now that school has started, we are reluctant. They are supposed to come over on Sunday because of course we want to see them, but since they have been attending school in person, we are afraid to take any chances, so we are asking them to wear masks when they come visit us. This is just awful!

My girlfriend in Florida, her granddaughter just went back to school and the third week in, ended up with Covid-19, plus she brought it home to both her parents.

Luckily, my other granddaughter, who lives in GA, is doing virtual school, so she won’t be susceptible to the virus. And she loves doing school at home, where Daddy (who works online from home) is right at the next table! She is doing great, except she misses her friends. That’s the only downside I can see. But, hopefully, this won’t be a forever thing.

We’re still doing the once a month shopping thing and that is working out real well for us. We still have to go out here and there for fill-in staples, but for the most part it’s great.

I just basically freeze everything and each week I defrost what I need for that week. It’s actually better than the way I shopped before, and I may continue to do things this way after the pandemic is over. Since I only get paid once a month, it’s the same budget-wise either way.

The only bad thing that’s happened for us is that the A/C went out in our car and it’s in the shop with the part being back-ordered for the past month. Now they say because of the pandemic, it’s going to be another month before they can get the part! By the time they get the part in, we won’t even need air conditioning any more.

The good news is that they’ve given us a loaner car to drive for as long as we need it, though, so at least we’re not without a car to drive. Still, it’s driving a car that’s not ours, which makes us a little insecure.

Still not able to do the flea market, of course. Although there is talk that they may open it back up next month and put an empty booth between booths to respect the social distancing rule. We’ll see, I don’t know if we would go back even if they do that. It would be tough to wear a mask all day every day for 3 days in a row.

But other than all that… Going along. Hoping this pandemic doesn’t go on much longer. It’s gone on so long already, it’s got to be over with soon, don’t you think?

At least I’m stable with my bipolar disorder, though. And I’m grateful for that. Hope you are doing as well with yours.

Wishing you joy and stability,

Remember God loves you and so do I,
Michele
