Bipolar News from 2005
I've had a few complaints from some of you that the news articles posted on the site is "too negative." Unfortunately, the news in general is too negative in my opinion, but I can only post what I get. I'm not a news station, and I don't have the time or resources to search endlessly for bipolar news everywhere. Also I don't filter the news I receive. I simply get it through many expensive and reliable news services and make it available to you.
Yes, a few articles are related to violence and bipolar disorder. I'm not posting these articles to suggest that people with bipolar are always violent, but the reality is that those who go without treatment for long periods of time have an increased chance of getting involved in violent situations. Reading these articles should help you understand the importance of proper treatment of bipolar disorder and not letting it go without diagnosis or monitoring.
If you continue to read, you'll also find many great articles on advances in bipolar treatment and other information relevant to bipolar.
The sad fact is, the old saying "No news is good news," in the media world usually translates to "Good news is no news." Just like your evening news, what makes the bipolar news tends to be the negative.
I will always strive to bring you any positive information that is brought to my attention. If you know of any news or "good news", please forward me the details at david(at)leverageteamllc.com.
If you're offended by what you do read, I'm sorry, but my mission is to portray the truth about bipolar fairly and honestly in order to help as many people as possible

The Warning Signs Of An Impending Bipolar Disorder Manic Episode
Bipolar disorder - as the name implies - involves two distinct set of symptoms. One set throws the individual down into the depths of a massive depression. The other places the individual who suffers with bipolar disorder at the top of a peak manic episode.
Most everyone can eventually recognize the warning signs of an impending depressive episode related to bipolar disorder. More likely than not, individuals with bipolar disorder try very hard to avoid it.
However, for many individuals with bipolar disorder, it's more difficult to recognize the signs of an impending manic episode. After all, a manic episode of bipolar disorder can be mistaken in some cases - especially in the very early formation -- for the lifting of the corresponding mood swing of the depression.
