Neurontin
Manufactured by Pfizer Canada, Inc., Neurontin has been studied for the past 22 years. First approved by the Federal Drug Administration, this drug is used primarily in the treatment of epilepsy. However, through in-depth research, Neurontin has also shown beneficial for treating other disorders such as Bipolar, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, essential tremors, brain injury, inflammatory injuries, cocaine dependence, peripheral neuropathy, Lou Gehrig's Disease, agitation secondary to Dementia, pain and spasms associated with MS, and much more. With Neurontin, you generally see two responses - patients who respond immediately with improved stamina and noticeable reduction in pain or those who receive no benefit. Since this drug must be excreted through the kidneys, it is important patients have a normal level of creatinine. To ensure the levels remain within normal range, persons on Neurontin would need to have regular blood work, generally every two to six months. When taking Neurontin, it is important to stay hydrated. Although some water-retention is expected, if this should become too uncomfortable, a consultation with the doctor would be in order to determine if water restriction is required. For the optimal benefit, Neurontin should be taken four times a day. Magnesium should never be taken with Neurontin in that both are competing to reach receptors within the brain. The key is in the "ramping up" to bring the drug in the bloodstream at the appropriate level. Generally, this would involve 300mg the first day, 600mg the second day, and 900mg the third day. During this time, it is relatively common to experience dizziness, ataxia, visual problems, and "brainfog." Back to Drug List |

No matter how long you've been married, the suggestions in this article can put some "spark" into your marriage. And if you've only been married a short time, putting these suggestions into place now can help ensure a long, happy, healthy marriage (of course, you will still have to do some hard work yourself to make that happen as well!).
