- Use Tax Refunds Wisely
This year's tax refunds average more than $2,000. Advisors writing in Time say it's wise to put money into your IRA or pay debts. Other good choices:
* Get one-time advice from a financial planner so you can keep plans on track.
* Have your car tuned up, or buy one that burns less gas.
* Make an extra mortgage payment. If you do it every year on a 30-year mortgage, it pays off seven years early.
* Join a gym. It's a sound investment.
